Korea F1

Our second weekend in Mokpo! We were very excited to find out that Mokpo was one of the nineteen cities to host an F1 race! We definately took advantage on this and bought our tickets the moment we signed our contracts and everything was secure. Fortunately Fitow, the typhoon that was suppose to hit Korea decided to turn off course, giving us a beautiful day for the race.

We finally arrived at the Korea International Circuit after getting ripped off by our cab driver..
(Let's take the FREE shuttle on the way back!) Off to get our tickets! This map was very helpful if you could read Hangul...

YAY! We found our seats! Pretty awesome seats with shots of the straight away, turns and corners. Our food for the race consisted of Krispy Kreme doughnuts... yes, you read that right! KRISPY KREME! ^^ and water of course.

The parade was led by the SLS, so cute amongst all the F1 cars. The race itself was very exciting. We saw everything from overtakes to multi-car overtakes to lapping. There was a fire when one of the cars slammed into another around a turn, metal sparks (when the front of one of the cars detached and was dragging on the ground), and cars loosing their tires. All in all a great race. Congrats to Sebastian Vettel  on his fourth win in a row this season and the Red Bull team for winning from pole position (the first time in Korea F1 history)!
